We were 11 hours into our drive (8 hours to go) to Bigsky when they annouced they were closing the slopes due to COVID-19 :(. Guess we'll have to go next year!

We celebrated the new year by traveling to London & Scotland. We mastered the tubes to traverse London and sightsee all of the major attractions (London tower, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Abbey Road, etc), stopping at various pubs for some R&R along the way. We were able to see the 2nd part of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at the Palace Theatre, which had the best effects I've seen at any theatre production. After London, we took a train north to Edinburgh in Scotland. Edinburgh is a beautiful city on the east coast nestled between and on several hills. We toured the Scottish Highlands which included a walk around Loch Katrine, and a visit to Aberfoyle (which had a great Shepherds Pie shop). We also sampled a few different scotches on a whisky tour, hiked Aurthur's seat, toured Edinburgh Castle, and celebrated the New Year in style at Hogmanay. As the Scots say before taking a drink, Slàinte mhath (pronounced slan-ge-var, meaning good health) for 2020!

GO BIG RED! We went to the Nebraska vs Maryland game in Maryland. The Huskers won 54 to 7. After the game we ate at a Korean BBQ place, which was great!

Went to Florida to visit the grandparents. Spent a lot of time shore fishing. Tim and I found a school of ladyfish one night and caught ~10 of them in the surf using plugs!

Traveled to Bigsky Montana for the annual family ski trip! Logan had to stay back because of dental school. I met up with my dad and we pulled an all nighter driving 15 hours to get there around 6 am, just enoug time to get lift tickets to ski/snowboard that day! The longest day of snowboarding for me was 32 miles.

Traveled to Thailand in 2018 for our honeymoon! We went to Bangkok, Chang Mai, and the island Koh Samet. We toured many temples and walked through a lot of street markets in Bangkok. In Chang Mai we got to see elephants up close at an elephant sanctuary. We fed them and got in the water with them! At Koh Samet we ended the trip with some island time. This inculded squid fishing, beach time, and snorkeling.

Spent spring break in Florida with Logan at my grandparents. I spent a lot of time fishing for Pompano, while Logan spent the time relaxing on the beach reading some good books.

Traveled to Bigsky Montana for the annual family ski trip! Logan (my wife) was able to come along for the first time! She spent some time in snowboarding lessons and is on her way to becoming an expert. We got engaged on this trip on the run Sacagawea!

My brother and I drove up to the UP in Michigan to visit my sister Emily who was living there. We spent a few days hiking the local trails. Dead River Fall's was one of our favorites.

We (my now wife and I) traveled to San Francisco as a surprise graduation trip! We had a great time checking out the city, touring Alcatraz, walking Lands End's trail to the Golden Gate Bridge, eating great seafood, and spending some time reading at the beach.

Flew over to PA for a medical school interview, we toured Philadelphia and visited the Rocky Statue & stairs. Pappy flew up and gave us a tour of Allentown, where I was born and where he and grandma Maryland lived for a long time.

Day trip from St. Cloud MN up to the Duluth MN area with Logan for some hiking and exploring.

A GREAT week in Bigsky this year. Multiple days of 6+ inches of fresh snow. Black diamonds are great when the snow is fresh.

My family traveled to Bonaire for a spring break trip. We stayed at Buddy Dive Resort on the island. Everyone is certified to scuba dive, so we spent the week scuba diving. One of the best parts about the island is that you could drive to any beach and shore dive. The coolest dive sighting of the trip was a manta ray!

Placerville family camp, we got caught in the rain while out on a hike. I don't think we had to hide in a cave this time.

Spent another week in Florida at my grandparents. We went deep sea fishing! I caught a 45 lb amberjack, it put up a good fight.

Family camp 2012, cousin Michael and Aunt Diana joined us this year.

Another great week spent in Vero Beach at my grandparents. Pappy cooks great clams to eat!

Traveled to PA for my great-grandma's (Granny Rue) funeral. We visited the church in Beaver PA that has the McConnel window (my mom's side of the family)

Bigsky for spring break, family dressup day has become a tradtion on Thursday of the week.

Wrestling in the South Dakota state Highschool wrestling tournament. I placed 2nd in the 133 lb weightclass.

Spent another great week at Placerville church camp! Cliff jumping into the creek on the Flume Hike is one of the traditions.

The biggest skiing in America! My family has been going there since the 70's, before I was born.

We toured Yellowstone national park for about a week. There were a lot of cool sites, the family favorite was the fountain paint pots.

Placerville camp in the Black Hills has been a family tradition for many years. Many friends have been made here. Hiking is one of my favorite parts.

Traveled to Vero Beach Florida in 2009 to visit my grandparents. My younger brother Tim caught a snook off of the beach!
